Working
John has a work to do today. His teacher resolved not to make a test for obtaining the grade for this unit. The teacher of John preferred to make their students to look for radiologists that are already at the work market. In the day after, John went to the hospital for interviewing Mr. Severino, a friend of him who worked in the area. John started the interview saying:
- Good Morning, Mr. Severino!
- Good Morning, John! How are you doing?
- I’m fine, Biu! Nice to see you!
- Nice to see you, too, boy!
- Well, May I ask you some questions?
- Of course you can.
- What are you doing?
- I’m studying about taking fingers X-Ray.
- Are you studying?
- Yes, we can’t stop working in this profession.
- What were you doing before that?
- I was reading the machine manual.
- And tomorrow, what will you be doing?
- Tomorrow I have a lot of things to do, a lot of people to assist.
- Thank you, Biu!
- You’re welcome, John.

Ex: Watch (watching); love (loving); Be (being); See (seeing); Cry (Crying); Sit (sitting); Tie (tying)
§2 Tempos Continuos (Continuous Tenses)
Os “Continuous Tenses” são tempos verbais que tem como base a estrutura:
VERBO TO BE + Verbo no ING
Ou seja, esse tempo vai tratar dos fatos que estão acontecendo no momento e quando houver variação de tempo, a modificação vai ocorrer apenas no “VERBO TO BE”. Veja abaixo os principais tempos continuous:
· Present Continuous: A estrutura vai ser “Verbo to be” (no presente) + Verbo no ING.
Ex: We are eating hamburger now. (Forma Afirmativa)
(Nós estamos comendo hamburger agora.)
Are we eating hamburger now? (Forma Interrogativa)
(Nós estamos comendo hamburger agora.)
We are not (aren’t) eating hamburger now. (Forma Negativa)
(Nós estamos comendo hamburger agora.)
· Past Continuous: A estrutura vai ser “Verbo to be” (no passado) + Verbo no ING.
Ex: We were eating hamburger now. (Forma Afirmativa)
(Nós estavamos comendo hamburger agora.)
Were we eating hamburger now? (Forma Interrogativa)
(Nós estavamos comendo hamburger agora.)
We were not (weren’t) eating hamburger now. (Forma Negativa)
(Nós estavamos comendo hamburger agora.)
· Future Continuous: A estrutura vai ser “Verbo to be” (no futuro) + Verbo no ING.
Ex: We will be eating hamburger now. (Forma Afirmativa)
(Nós estaremos comendo hamburger agora.)
Will we be eating hamburger now? (Forma Interrogativa)
(Nós estaremos comendo hamburger agora.)
We will not (won’t) be eating hamburger now. (Forma Negativa)
(Nós estaremos comendo hamburger agora.)
